Goings On Around the Clubhouse

It has been a hot summer at the Arizona clubhouse but the occasional monsoon shower has cooled things down. The nights are cool now but the afternoons still heat up as Arizona will do. The corn and soybeans are turning gold and almost ready for harvest around the Kempton estate. The new Adventures Unlimited catalog is now shipping and things are busy around the Adventures Unlimited Bookstore downtown.

We are gearing up for our trip to Bangkok, Kathmandu, Agra and Delhi starting on September 29. We take a trip to Phewa Lake and Pokhara, Nepal’s second city which has stunning views of the Annapurna range. A few of us will be going on to Lhasa in Tibet on a specially arranged tour. Thanks to WEX manager Govinda Panta for helping put together the itinerary and covering the details. Our next trip will probably be to Carnac in France, or possibly Peru or Mexico in early 2018. I will be a speaker at the Earth-Keeper conference in Little Rock, Arkansas from November 17 to 20. Old friends Graham Hancock and John Van Auken will be there as well, along with the amazing James Tyberonn and over 20 other speakers. Arkansas is the quartz crystal capital of the United States and a large number of large crystals and crystal skulls, etc. will be on display or for sale. Check it out at: http://www.earth-keeper.com/products_categories/events/

I will be attending the upcoming AlienCon 2018 from June 15 to 17 with good friend Giorgio Tsoukalos and others from Ancient Aliens. This second AlienCon will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center and promises to be an out-of-this-world occasion! Come and check out our table in the exhibitors section! See more details about the event, including tickets and other attendees at: http://www.thealiencon.com

Shortly after this event, I am speaking at the Awakening UFO & Conscious Life Expo in Manchester, UK on June 22, 2018. This looks like a great event with associates Mike Bara, Nick Pope and Grant Cameron. I hope to see you there! Check it out at: www.awakeningufo.com

Jennifer and I went to Rome, Sardinia and Florence for three weeks at the end of May. On my 60th birthday I had a pizza at the cafe in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa! We rented a car for nine days in Sardinia and drove all over the island looking for megaliths, which are not in short supply. It is an amazing place! See my article in the summer issue of World Explorer.

We had our open house and author party at the Adventures Unlimited Bookstore in Kempton on June 10. I was signing copies of my new book, The Lost World of Cham, and gave a short presentation that was live streamed on Facebook. John Brandenburg from Madison, Wisconsin and Kenn Thomas from St. Louis were also there to promote their latest books. We had lots of guests from all over the Midwest and drinks and snacks were served. A large crowd of us had dinner at Tom’s Tavern across the street and then some games of pool were had at the clubhouse.

Our latest affiliated bookstore is the Nexus Bookstore at 10 Coral Street in Maleny, Queensland, Australia. They have a full range of Adventures Unlimited books and other products. Visit them when you are in the area! The Adventures Unlimited office in Kempton is also the new USA office for Nexus Magazine. Check out the magazine and bookstore at: www.nexusmagazine.com

After consulting Mike Migliore, who runs WEX Club Cruises, we are changing the date for our 11-day expedition to Antarctica to December 2018. Stand by for exact dates. We will fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina and then fly to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. From there we will embark on a double-hulled exploration ship and spend five full days in Antarctica with lots of shore excursions. All meals and drinks are included in the package. Lots of special presentations will be given by me and others on this cruise. This might be the time to cross Antarctica off your bucket list! Check out the web pages at: www.wexclubcruises.com

Sadly, it looks like the Amsterdam bookstore, Frontier World, may be winding down operations. The director, Herman Hegge is not able to continue with the shop because of a sudden illness. There is still a short time to visit if you are in Amsterdam. It is located in the Jordaan district of the city near the Singel canal. It’s within walking distance of Centraal, the main train station. The address is: Marnixstraat 82, 1015 VX Amsterdam. Tel: (+34) 020-330-9151. Have a virtual visit at their website: www.frontierworld.nl/bookshop.
